Are you looking for Clear aligners?
What are Clear aligners
Clear aligners are a transparent form of dental braces that are made out of plastic and used to adjust teeth. They work by putting a small amount of pressure on the teeth that are needed to move, to adjust them in the direction required.
Who are the suitable candidates for Clear aligners?
There are three main suitable candidates for Clear aligners:
- Crowded Teeth
- Spacing Issue
- Improve a tooth’s appearance, shape, alignment
If you suffer from any of the above, it is likely that you will be suitable for Clear aligners to help fix your teeth.

Are Clear aligners cheap, affordable, and worth it? Or are they a waste of money?
While Clear Aligners can help to straighten out your teeth, they do come with a price tag. Prices do depend on a case by case basis, but you can expect to pay from £1,500 up to £5,500 and sometimes even more than this. The amount it will be is often worked out depending on how crooked your teeth are or if you have an overbite. Both of these will mean that your teeth will take longer for the teeth to move into position and require more trips to the orthodontist. To many people, this cost is simply too much and not deemed to be worth it when there are cheaper alternatives that can achieve a similar outcome.

Are there any disadvantages of getting Clear aligners?
While Clear aligners can straighten out your teeth, they also have a fair amount of disadvantages that come alongside. The first of these is that they can cause damage to your teeth, gums, and jaw. Due to the amount of excessive pressure they put on the gums, they can result in swelling and bleeding. If worn for an extended period, they can result in periodontitis and gingivitis. They may also weaken tooth roots too. This pressure can cause a lot of pain for the wearer, with extensive tooth discomfort and pain while they are being worn. As they need to be worn for twenty-two hours a day, this can be a lot of pain over a continued period of time. They also need to be worn for months on end, meaning that it is not a short-lived pain, but one that will continue for sometimes the best part of a year.
Clear aligners are also very inconvenient and require you to visit the dentist often to get them checked and altered. Even when worn at home, you will need to clean them each time you remove them before you place them back in your mouth. This is tedious, and even despite rigorous cleaning can still leave you with bad breath that can make you feel self-conscious.
